Tashi shares some of her favourite mantras as well as exploring toning for vocal confidence. You will receive a mantra sheet with the words and translations as well as access to recordings to continue to practice the mantra.

ABOUT

Tashi Dawa is one of the founders of Yoga in the Valley.

She grew up in the Lower Clarence and began traveling and teaching yoga in the late 90’s. Tashi moved to Europe in 2006 establishing herself as a yoga retreat leader.

She currently spends half the year in Europe teaching, extended periods in India and leads local classes when she’s home in the Clarence Valley.

Hayley Skeggs

A gentle movement & mobility session focused on preparing the body for seated meditation. Exploring seated postures, use of props & supports among mindful movements to create a meditative experience before settling into the meditation practice.

ABOUT 

Hayley is one of the founders of Yoga in the Valley.

She fell in love with yoga while traveling abroad in 2010. Upon returning to her hometown of Grafton, she began practicing regularly. Hayley became a certified yoga teacher in 2018 specialising in Satyananda Yoga teachings, Hayley also enjoys teaching restorative yoga and meditation at her studio Grafton Yoga School.

Leeanne is a Yaegl Traditional Owner, her great grandmother, Margaret Laurie, was the eldest daughter of Rocky and Bella Laurie.

The Yaegl People are the traditional custodians of the coastal areas around Yamba, Iluka and Maclean.

Dynamic Hatha 9.45am

Join Greg to explore the science of Hatha Yoga via the alchemical fusion of Solar and Lunar forces in the navel centre. This practice will use traditional techniques to cultivate fire in the Manipura Chakra, allowing us to burn through and release energy blockages and limitations. From here we can move energy from the lower energy centres into the higher energy centres of the heart, expression, clear seeing and that which lies beyond the mind.

ABOUT

Greg started practicing yoga 20 years ago to help to rehabilitate a spinal fracture caused by a snowboarding accident.

He has a strong passion to share the tools from the yoga tradition to help others transform their lives, to build an inclusive community and ultimately create a better world.

The medium of clay offers us an invitation to work directly with the earth. Amanda invites us to explore and reflect while we enjoy the sensory journey and create a token earth goddess to celebrate the feminine in our own personal way.

Amanda has worked with clay on and off for many years. She offers workshops in her studio The Clay Circle and has worked as a Remedial Massage Therapist for 20 years.

A long time Clarence Valley resident she finds inspiration in her surrounds, an avid surfer who draws her creative inspiration from her ocean playground and the surrounding national park.

Gentle Hatha Yoga 11.30am

Shakti offers a gentle yoga series with a lie down at the start and end (ah, shavasana heaven). There’ll be some rolling around on the mat for super gentle twists and stretches, joint movements from sitting (you’ll notice the benefit of taking the mind into the body), and simple standing poses to lengthen the spine. Throughout, you’ll be encouraged to maintain a relaxed mindful awareness of sensation. Bringing body and mind together is the essence of yoga. It’s what makes us feel complete, whole and totally zen.

ABOUT

From her 20’s in an Indian ashram to her 60s as an online Mindfulness teacher, Shakti delights in sharing the richness of yoga and meditation. She is a registered senior teacher with Yoga Australia.

The last couple of decades Shakti has taught yoga in Kyogle and been a keen student of Tibetan Buddhism. She recently relocated to Maclean where she leads classes.

Carol retired in Yamba in 2013 and has been teaching Nia locally for 8 years. She has enjoyed her journey to wellness and vitality through yoga, pilates, meditation, boogy boarding and, of course, Nia.

Her classes are joyFULL and inspiring. She believes creating community and a sense of belonging promotes well-being. Her mantra is ‘love your body, love

Terry has completed extensive training with Dr Joe Dispenza, Tony Robbins and has had the opportunity to learn from and experience some of the ancient South American cultures in plant medicine.

Terry brings his real life experience to his teachings from his own personal challenges and his continuous daily practices of over 40 years. He connects the science, practical applications and his lived experiences to allow people to be able to find their own path to wellness and balance.

Passionate about health, she started Mimosa’s Kitchen in 2021 to provide the Clarence Valley with fermented foods, drinks, gourmet vegan dips, spreads & condiments. Spirited about animal rights, she is also a devoted vegan.
